Redang Island

Redang Island is one of the largest islands on the east coast of Malaysia. Located just off the shore of Terengganu, it is a place known for snorkeling and diving. If both yourself and your partner loves diving and swimming, then this is the perfect destination. However, if you don't know how to swim yet you still want to experience coral reefs that will take your breathe away, training is provided at minimal fees.


To get there, you have the option of flying into the island via Redang Airport or take a ferry from Kuala Terengganu.

Gemia Island

If you prefer to travel to a serene and peaceful island for your honeymoon, Gemia Island is the place to go to. Take a speed boat from Merang (20km South of Kuala Terengganu) and in 20 minutes you should arrive on the island. While Gemia is not as famous as the nearby islands of Redang and Perhentian, it surely does not lose out on the scenery. You ought to find serenity on the island.

Tioman Island

Perhentian Island is a unique place consists of two separate islands. One island is called Pulau Perhentian Kecil (small) and the other is called Pulau Perhentian Besar (big). It takes an hour ride of boat from the east coast of Malaysia. Upon arriving, the natural beauty and laid back atmosphere of the island will suck you right in. Stretches of long white beach, the crystal clear water and the untouched forest will surely make your honeymoon an unforgettable experience. Nothing could be more romantic than having a drink by the beach watching sunset.

Sipadan Island

Probably one the most famous islands of Malaysia, Pulau Sipadan is widely regarded as one of the top places for diving in the world. It is located in the Celebes Sea, east of a major town, Tawau, and off the coast of Sabah. The island is formed by thousands living corals staking up on top of an extinct volcano that took thousands of years to form.

To preserve this beautiful island, it is now closed for overnight stays. However, it is still possible to stay at nearby islands and visit Sipadan island during the day. On Sipadan, more than 3000 species of marine life has been documented. Be ready to have your mind blown off with all the marine flora and fauna on this island. Many tourist return for more after their first visit.

Pulau Langkawi

Pulau Langkawi is by far the most populated island in Malaysia. With a population of almost 64,792, Langkawi remains relatively a forest packed island. The island is located 30km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. On June 1, 2007, Langkawi Island was given the World Geopark status by UNESCO. The three main conservation areas in Langkawi Geopark are the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, Pregnant Maiden Lake and the Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park. Langkawi Island is also a duty free island.

Pulau Manukan

Pulau Manukan is located off the coast of Kota Kinabalu. To get to there, you will have to go through Hyatt Regency Kinabalu where a 10 minute walk will lead you to Jesselton Point Jetty. Pulau Manukan is one of the 5 islands included in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. What stands out in Pulau Manukan is the crystal clear water and colorful marine life living underwater. It is well known in Sabah for diving and snorkeling.

The beach at Manukan Island is quite long, so personal space is not an issue. Whether you are visiting this island for it's beach, coral reefs or the exhilarating water activities, you will have so much fun that you might consider coming back for more.
